Today Isabelle from the Red Cross came to explain to the children all about the Red Cross and to teach them basic first aid and how to put someone into the recovery position.
On Wednesday we had an Eco Day, all the children in the school were split into their Houses, so with children from Reception right up to Year 5 they worked together to create useful products from recycled items. The children went home with sock puppets, musical instruments, wonderful bug pictures and mobiles.
The next day the children working in their classes created things using paper. They made lots of things including windmills, origami animals, and mosaic pictures.
The final day was a non-energy day where we didn’t use any lights, computers, photocopiers etc. and our Eco Warriors saw a huge difference to our energy consumption.
After having their trip cancelled in March due to all the snow we had Year 5 were really looking forward to their trip to Gradbach. This time the weather was a lot kinder and they had a wonderful time studying rivers and rocks and soils. Click on the link to see their photos –
