Today we had our very special Assembly where we said Goodbye to our Year 6 children as they move onto their next step in their lives at their new schools. It was very sad saying Goodbye but very enjoyable looking back over their time here at Cropwell Bishop School and hearing the Teachers and the childrens own memories of their time at school.
We wish you all the very best and Good Luck Year 6 at your new schools!
This afternoon the children who have Guitar Lessons with Steve McCabe put on a fantastic concert for the school and their parents. They performed a selection of music in groups and also we had two wonderful solo performances by Aidan Herrington and Connor Bell.
Well Done to you all!
Today saw a fantastic sunny day for Sports Day. The children all split into their House Teams and they all took part in the Pottered Sports Events around the circle which included Egg and Spoon, Relay, Over and Under Event and the much longed for Drinks Stop. Then the Key Stage One children took part in running races on the track and the Key Stage Two children ran the Relay Races around the big circle. Everyone had a fantastic time and performed really well, even with the unusual heat.
The Winning Team this year was Air and the cup was proudly lifted by their House Captain – Alfie Woodward. Well Done Everyone!

It was a beautiful sunny day for our trip. We met Corby, our leader for the day and we walked through the countryside to our first activity of Pond Dipping – how exciting!
We delved in the shady spots and fished with nets to see what we could catch. It was more tricky than we thought it would be. We had fun identifying all kinds of pond life like dragonfly, water nymphs and waterboatmen.
A steady walk back took us to the animal care unit. We were lucky enough to see a horse have a bath with sponges! We had to be so quiet so we didn’t frighten the horse.
Back at school we had great fun watching Dangerous Derek at our Infant Activities Evening. Joel was brilliant catching the juggling balls in a hat and Joshua walked on stilts right down to the football nets.
Later, we got ready for a long hot overnight stay in the school hall. We couldn’t move for lilos and huge teddies!
After a fabtastic time and not much sleep we enjoyed our breakfast together before the fun was over.

The children from Key Stage Two put on an amazing music and dance concert last night. We had performances from the school band led by Mrs Blackburn, the choir led by Mr Sibley, Class Four and their Ukelele’s, the Recorder Group and Vickie’s Dance Club. There were also alot of fantastic solo performances from children playing the piano, drums, guitar and singing as well as a wonderful performance by Puple Pulse, our very own ‘Boy Band’ from Class 5.
The whole evening, put together by Miss Robinson, was a resounding success – Well Done to all who took part.

This morning our Junior Road Safety Officers presented an excellent assembly to the whole school, reminding us all how to keep ourselves safe when near or crossing roads.
They had a very powerful message to help us remember their advise:-

It could Save Your Life!
