Boys Football – Wednesday 15th October 2014

Congratulations to the boy’s football team who won their football match against Sutton Bonnington School 6:0 in the Small Schools Cup.

Cropwell Bishop played Sutton Bonnington on Wednesday night. Sutton kicked off and had a good start until James did a fantastic through ball to Kye which ended up in the back of the net. James had a clearance/shot which had an awkward bounce then skimmed the crossbar. We came close to 2 – 0 but Louis, with a banger of a shot, hit the side netting. Also Daniel came close from a free kick but the keeper tipped it on the crossbar.

It was half time and John gave us a few tips. We went back on and Joseph scored from a tight angle to make it 2 – 0. There were various opportunities for both sides until Daniel nutmeged the keeper to make it 3 – 0. After a while, Sutton was caught on the break and Cropwell won a free kick near the half way line. Daniel took it and it was a low ball then Henry tapped it the other way so the keeper couldn’t reach the tap in. 4 – 0 Cropwell.

Kye had a brilliant run down the left wing Daniel crossed it in and Kye hit a spectacular volley in to the top corner. It looked like Cropwell had got it in the bag but then in the last 40 seconds Daniel extended the lead to make it 6 – 0. Eventually Connor blew the final whistle, Cropwell had won.
